- You'll fly from Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) to Kigali (KGL). Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and transfer north to the Musanze area, stopping for lunch en route. An early start for the main event. After a packed breakfast and briefing at the park headquarters, you'll set off to track the mountain gorillas. The trek through the dense forest is an adventure in itself, culminating in an unforgettable hour with a gorilla family. Return to the lodge to rest and share stories of your experience. This morning, you'll enjoy a more relaxed trek to see the vibrant golden monkeys. Afterwards, you'll return to the lodge for lunch before beginning your journey eastwards to Akagera National Park (approx. 3-4 hours drive). The scenery changes dramatically from mountains to rolling savannah hills. You'll arrive at your lodge in time for a sundowner and dinner. After an early breakfast, you'll set off for a full day of exploration in Akagera.
